At the end of the upstairs hallway, Arthur finally paused, suspicion rising. “Why are we getting a private tour?” he asked. “Shouldn’t you be greeting other buyers at the door?” Dalton stopped at the top of the staircase, his smile faint but unwavering. “I wouldn’t worry about that,” he said, his tone oddly casual. “You’re the only ones here today. In fact, I very much doubt anyone else will be coming.” His words hung heavily.
