Rose rubbed her eyes as she flipped through the crinkled pages of the weekend paper, half-expecting the same listings she had already memorized. The housing market had been brutal lately, with every halfway-decent place snatched up in hours or listed far beyond what they could ever afford. Her hopes were dim, but then her gaze caught something different. At the bottom corner was a small ad: a photo of a house covered in vines, chipped paint, and mystery.
