The old man leaned back, his eyes sharp despite his years. “We knew this place better than anyone. We used that knowledge to scare people away. Lights would flicker, doors would slam, shadows would dance.” He gave a tired chuckle. “Every visitor thought the house was cursed.” His wife added quietly, “It worked. For over ten years, no one dared stay. We protected our home by making it feel haunted.”
