Moving carefully

Sarah led the way, flashlight in hand, scanning for signs of life. “Watch your step,” she warned as a loose drawer from a bolted-down cabinet slid past them. Gravity didn’t play by normal rules here. Flashlights revealed overturned bunks, spilled boxes, and a sloshing puddle of some strange black gue collecting in a corner. But no people were heard or seen.
