With multitools, ropes, and brute strength, the team worked quickly. Rusted pipes were yanked aside. Metal grates were unscrewed or broken off. Even the floor worked against them—tilted, slick, and unpredictable. But Sarah pushed them forward. “They’ve been trapped there for god knows how long,” she said. “We don’t have time to waste.” The shouts behind the door grew more urgent. Then, the final beam creaked loose.
