Storm’s Over

Frank placed the umbrella gently into the lost and found, his lips curling into a faint smile. “Sorry, mister Frank, just a joke,” the students giggled. He shook his head, not angry, only amused. For once, the symbol of his torment wasn’t heavy. It was harmless. “Storm’s over,” he whispered quietly to himself, satisfied. For the first time in a long while, the words felt real, like closure.
