The alley twisted again, and Kevin skidded around the bend as fast as he could, his shoes scraping against the rough ground. His voice echoed off the tall brick walls as he called again, louder this time: “Please! Just stop for a moment!” But the old man didn’t slow down. In fact, he seemed to quicken, moving with the urgency of someone running for his very life from an unseen danger.
