Straightening slowly, Kevin stared around the empty alley, still breathing heavily as he tried to calm down. The silence around him felt unnatural, almost dreamlike, as if he had stepped into some strange world where nothing moved. He rubbed the back of his neck nervously, his thoughts spinning in all directions. “This was the strangest thing ever,” he muttered aloud, his voice trembling slightly. He glanced at the tall brick wall, baffled by the disappearance.
