Benjamin carefully lifted the gown, unfolding it with reverence, as though the fabric itself carried their life together. His fingers shook as he smoothed the lace. “This,” he murmured, “is her wedding dress.” His voice softened as tears pressed against it. “We never had children. It was only ever the two of us.
