Reaching the top
Thomas set his other foot on the next step, his hands gripping the rail. With one last glance at the quiet forest floor below, he continued his climb, unaware of what awaited him at the top. And once he got there, he saw something he did not quite expect because this staircase did have a destination, just not one that could be seen from the ground.
