Thomas planted his feet firmly into the ground so he’d have a good base from which to exert power. Once that was established, he reached out his right hand and grabbed the handle attached to the generator. “1…2…3… and pull,” he said while pulling the handle toward him as hard as he could. The generator roared once, but his first effort wasn’t enough to bring it to life.
