At the station
When Thomas arrived at the station, he saw a line of men in dusty work clothes behind the holding cell bars. They were the workers he had seen underground. A nearby officer explained they were Polish laborers hired illegally. They were scared and confused but not the masterminds. Just as Thomas began to process this, more commotion filled the room behind him.
