A staircase
From a distance, Thomas thought it might be a pile of logs some lumber company had left behind. But as he stepped closer, he realized it was something much stranger. Right in the middle of the forest floor, where he knew there had been nothing just days ago, stood a large staircase. Its pale concrete steps rose from the forest floor and led up to nowhere.
