Isolated feeling
It suddenly made Lilly realize how alone she was in this place. Her crowded city life was hectic, and the sound of arguing neighbors through her living room wall was annoying at times. But it also provided some sort of safety net—the feeling of public protection if anything were to ever happen to her. Out here, nobody would know if she was in trouble.
