Losing balance
Lilly placed her ear against the attic door. At first, there was only silence, but then a heavy thud slammed from the other side. Lilly yelped and jumped back, nearly losing her balance and falling down the staircase. Her flashlight danced wildly across the walls as dust drifted down, settling on the floor where she had seen it earlier. And this time, she couldn’t just brush it off.
