A mystery to all

The next morning, Lilly drove nervously to the realtor’s office, still half expecting the deal to collapse. She signed the stack of paperwork, flipping through old documents, and asked questions about the property. But the realtor only shrugged, admitting he knew almost nothing about the house. The previous owners had mailed him the deed and keys in an envelope, requesting a quick, cheap auction. They never appeared in person. It unsettled her immediately.
