Terror strikes
For a moment, James felt completely paralyzed, staring at this creature that seemed almost otherworldly. Then, suddenly, the bird let out a strange, low rumble from its throat. The sound jolted James out of his frozen state, and he lurched backward. His chair toppled over with a loud crack, and hot coffee splashed across his shirt and arms as he tumbled onto the grass.
