A pointless effort

Sarah bit her lip, tasting blood, forcing focus to quell rising panic. She turned to her team, voice low but firm, urging calm and unity. Fear rippled through the group, their eyes wide in the dim light. She knew losing control would worsen things. Steadying her breath, she rallied them to stay together, her leadership the only anchor in the cramped, locked vessel where uncertainty and dread now reigned.
