More than a breeze

Amber hesitated, at first thinking it might have been the wind. But then the bag twitched more sharply, like something struggling. She reached out slowly, hand brushing the plastic when she heard it — a faint scratching sound from inside. She froze, startled. Then came a sudden, high-pitched screech that made her flinch backward. Darren leaned closer, eyes wide. “That’s not nothing,” Amber said quickly. “There’s definitely something alive in there trying to get out.”
