Amber straightened carefully with the creature still cradled in her arms. “Call the vet,” she said firmly. “Tell him we need an incubator right now.” Darren grabbed his radio, sending the request. Amber turned back toward Cora, who was still pacing and pointing with relentless focus. The chimp’s wide eyes never blinked, staring as if she already knew far more about the little animal than any of the humans possibly could.
