Cora’s watching eyes

The lab was quiet and sterile, a sharp contrast to the noisy zoo below. It had a wide glass window that overlooked the chimpanzee enclosure. From the moment the incubator was placed near that window, Cora grew frantic. She paced wildly, tossing twigs and pebbles toward the glass, barking and pounding with her fists. Her eyes never left the small chamber where the helpless creature now rested, her intensity alarming everyone watching from above.
