Back inside, they spread maps across Thomas’s dining table. Satellite images and drone shots posted online by curious neighbors gave them the detail they needed. The iceberg was wedged against the cliffs, making it reachable by boat. From there, the climb would be tough, but not impossible. They charted a route together, marking the safest faces, the steepest pitches, and where they’d need their ice axes most.
