The Plan Unfolds

From the moment the cutters anchored, the beach transformed into a command post. Radios hissed, clipboards were passed, and boots stomped across the sand. Thomas stood near the tape line, breath fogging in the cold air. An officer listened intently as he explained everything again. The journal was passed along, pages flashing under lantern light. Nods followed. The order was given. “We’ll tow it,” someone said. “Before it breaks.”
