Greg squeezed Thomas’s shoulder. “They listened,” he said quietly, almost in disbelief. The Coast Guard worked fast, dragging thick steel chains across the pier, attaching them to waiting boats. Spotlights bounced off the iceberg, making it glow like a floating mountain. Engines roared, low and steady, as the plan locked into place. For the first time since this began, Thomas felt the weight lift. They weren’t alone anymore.
