Gone again
By noon, Judith had disappeared again. She said she was heading to town to pick up groceries. But when Bob checked the pantry later, nothing had changed. No new eggs. No milk. Not even an extra bag of coffee beans. He walked the house twice, searching for signs that she’d really gone shopping. But there was no receipt, no bags. Judith was lying; he just knew it.
