Missing ring

That evening, Bob got curious. Quietly, he opened the drawer where Judith had stashed the carrot with the diamond ring. But it was empty. The carrot was gone, and so was the ring. His stomach dropped. He waited until Judith walked through the room and asked casually, “Hey, where’d that carrot go?” Judith turned fast, her tone sharp. “You must have taken it. You probably lost it.”
