Once the object was lashed with heavy chains, the vessel pushed toward the Coast Guard’s main dock. The journey took close to an hour, each passing mile marked by the faint golden shimmer reflecting beneath deck lights. Waiting forklifts and staff were prepared for the transfer. Together they hauled the object into the secure hanger, locking heavy steel doors behind it. Harper felt a flicker of relief knowing it was contained.
