Strange new behaviors

As soon as Dr. Harris left, the hatchlings seemed to change. They began exploring every corner of the house, slipping into rooms Kathy swore she had closed off. One hissed at its reflection in the hallway mirror, the sound sharp and unfamiliar. Even stranger, when startled by a loud noise, they all froze and turned in perfect unison. Kathy’s fascination was slowly turning into unease.
