Whatever caused Kathy this initial fright was already long gone at this point. But it did not leave Kathy’s garden before leaving her with a little gift—well, three gifts, to be precise. Kathy took a final step forward, and that’s when she noticed it. Between the leaves of her azalea bush, she saw pale, milky-white spherical shapes where normally dark soil should be.
