Weeks passed, and Coco fully recovered. The red panda-like animal never returned during working hours, though Alison liked to think it was still out there, watching over its friend. One evening at closing time, Alison caught a flash of red fur at the edge of the forest, pausing just long enough for their eyes to meet before vanishing again.
