Kevin raised his voice carefully. “Willem, I found your notebook. Can you come out and talk?” His words echoed hollowly across stone.
He held his breath, straining for footsteps, for a reply. But silence pressed in heavier. The chamber answered with nothing. A chill rippled down his spine. Was Willem still alive—or had he vanished into shadows long ago?
