The tunnel

Kevin leaned closer. The walls were raw and crumbly, evidence of years of desperate digging. He tilted his phone deeper, light stretching farther into the passage.
His breath stopped. The shadows shifted unnaturally. He blinked, refocusing—then froze. A face materialized in the dark, gaunt and lined. Eyes wide and fearful stared straight back at him. Kevin’s blood chilled.
