A flicker of movement
She squinted, trying to make out more in the dim interior. Then it happened—a shadow shifted across the glow of the fire, just for an instant, blocking the light before vanishing. Suzan gasped and stumbled backward, her foot catching on a root behind her. She landed on the forest floor with a thud, heart hammering in her chest.
