Seeing daylight

Finally, after what felt like forever, Suzan saw a faint glow ahead. She clawed forward with renewed energy, wriggling her hips through the final stretch. The cold air brushed her face as she pulled herself up through the exit, lungs heaving as if she’d just run a marathon. She blinked against the sunlight, realizing she was back outside in the forest again.
