Hitting close to home

The old fisherman continued grimly, his voice heavy. “It’s strong enough to destroy even sturdy fishing boats at sea. Last week, one of our friends’ ships was struck. It sank completely, dragged down like nothing.” His gaze dropped to the deck, sorrow plain in his lined face. “The wreck still lies on the ocean floor. And not once has anyone identified it clearly. None of us know exactly what we’re fighting against yet.”
