Bob frowned deeply. “And nobody’s tried reporting this?” His voice carried disbelief. One of the younger fishermen laughed bitterly. “Report what? A sea beast ripping boats apart? Authorities would blame poor construction—or rocks.” The old man shook his head. “But it wasn’t. We’ve lost engines, nets, whole livelihoods. That thing wants us gone.” The captain’s voice cut in, hard and certain. “But it ends here. We’ll stop it, whatever it takes. With witnesses.”
