Clear damage

Fragments scattered, spraying across the deck as the boat jerked violently backward. Bob staggered, grabbing hold of Megan just before she fell. They clung together as seawater surged inside. A gaping hole yawned just above the waterline, water flooding through it in a steady gush. It wasn’t instant doom, but the damage was clear. Every passing moment mattered now. The boat was compromised, and survival was slipping further from reach.
