Salvation at last

One by one, the smaller swordfish broke free, their bodies flashing silver and blue as they darted into the open sea. Their shrill cries sounded almost joyful as they swam. Other trapped sea life spilled out too, streaks of scales and fins vanishing into the dark. The deck swelled with relief as freedom spread beneath them. The sea itself seemed to breathe again, pulsing with life instead of grief. Hope began to rise.
