The box was heavy and cold to the touch. It had no markings—just a lid and reinforced corners. Tom looked around before opening it, almost as if he was doing something illegal, and an authoritarian person could jump out at any moment to interrupt him from opening the container. After nothing happened for a few seconds, he dared to look inside.
