Tom continued, “We came from nothing. Even though this area is beautiful, the home we lived in was as basic as it comes. But to me, it was special. I kept it private all my life. It was handed down to me by my father, and for decades, I kept it as my own private, special place—a place where I could go to be alone with my thoughts.”
