Black cable
Judy moved closer, finally standing beside her frantic dog. Her eyes widened at what emerged beneath his digging. He had uncovered a thick black cable, unlike anything she’d seen in the sand before. It resembled a power line, coated and heavy, but it didn’t connect to any known infrastructure nearby. The strange cable curved deliberately through the earth, as if placed there with intention, hidden from view until Bruno revealed it with his relentless, persistent efforts.
