A difficult push

The generator was heavy, but adrenaline drove her. Judy shoved with her shoulder, boots sliding across the wooden planks. Metal groaned as the machine shifted inch by inch. Her arms trembled, muscles burning, but she refused to stop. With one final push, it moved enough to clear the seam. Then—click! A sharp mechanical snap echoed below, distinct and unsettling, like something inside had unlatched or disconnected when the generator was forced from position.
