His hands stayed steady on the wheel, but his eyes flicked toward her with skepticism. Judy didn’t flinch or look away. “Just keep going,” she said flatly. Her voice carried a hard edge now, sharpened with determination. “I’ll tell you when to stop.” Her words ended the discussion, leaving Pete to shake his head.
