Boarding together

Together they boarded Luke’s boat, the wooden deck creaking beneath their boots. Overhead, clouds thickened, dimming the gray morning light as if the sky sensed what they were about to face.
Luke powered on the sonar, its steady hum filling the air. The screen flickered alive, ready to trace the chain’s submerged path. As the engine rumbled, Edwin muttered, “Let’s bring this to an end.”
