Luke steered the boat carefully, keeping it steady as the sonar tracked the chain’s path. On the display, the line stretched endlessly forward.
The further they went, the more astonishing it became. Already they had traveled miles offshore, and still, the chain continued. Ten miles in, the end remained unseen. Luke glanced at Edwin, and in silence they both shared the same unsettling thought.
