Upward tunnel
Cautiously, they slipped through the hole. At first, the cave seemed plain, just another hollow filled with water and shadows. But as they swam, the tunnel bent upward unexpectedly.
It was subtle at first, then undeniable. Their bodies strained as they kicked against the pressure, lungs tight, until the surface shimmered above like a mirror. Light flickered across it, promising something beyond.
