Bracing himself
Luke’s brows knitted in concentration. If the ocean hadn’t completely swallowed this thing, perhaps he could drag some of it closer. That thought made him act. Planting his boots against a cluster of rocks, he leaned his weight backward, bracing for another pull. The seasoned fisherman knew how to use his strength, and this time he planned to pull with everything he had.
