Another look

Once the sheep were secure again, the garden felt calmer, though the unanswered question remained sharp in Ben’s mind. He walked back to the porch, crouching low for another look. The sheer quantity of eggs was overwhelming, stretching far beyond what his eyes could trace. He had never seen anything remotely like it in his years living out here. Every instinct told him that whatever this was, it was too much for him to handle alone.
