Slowly, David lowered himself onto one knee. His jeans brushed the rough stone as he opened the ring box. Julia’s eyes filled with tears, lips trembling. David looked up at her, heart pounding, and said the words he had practiced countless times.
“Julia, will you marry me?” Her body trembled as she looked down at him, overwhelmed. Everything hung suspended.
