A Sudden Standstill
Instead of running off, the horse stood there, muscles tense, eyes wide and alert. Its ears flicked back and forth as it snorted heavily. The driver gripped the wheel tightly, unsure what to do next. Why was this horse out here on its own? And why did it seem so desperate to stay?
